"Being a trained theater actor from New York, I had a hard time adjusting to the type of auditions I was getting here in LA, mainly for film and television. I kept hearing that my work was "too big" which was really putting me in my head. Having a similar background, Sydney was able to help me make the adjustment to film and television and translate my feedback into positive active choices that freed my acting in a way like never before. I have been booking jobs ever since!"

"It was my pleasure to teach Sydney Brenner in classes at The Actors Center in New York. Her acting work was distinguished by her courage, openness to new ideas, strong intellect, humanity, empathy and huge determination. I am certain that her current teaching demands a high standard of  achievement from the actor in front of her as well as an exceptional amount of skill, experienced wisdom and empathetic guidance from herself."

Ron Van Lieu (Professor of Acting)
Chair of the Acting Program, Yale School of Drama

"Sydney is precisely the kind of acting teacher and coach the industry needs. There is such a tremendous concentration on the business of being an actor--getting the agent, the auditions, the movie role or guest spot--that the craft is neglected or even forgotten. Sydney has the sensitivity, intelligence and perception to respond to the individual actor's strengths and weaknesses, bringing about the best in their work for their given role or audition."

Christina Sibul (Producer/Development Executive)
“Thirteen” starring Holly Hunter, development on “House of Sand and Fog”, “Sideways”, and “40 Days and 40 Nights”

"Sydney possesses the qualities a good acting teacher requires - she is bright, articulate, nurturing and has an eye for talent. She is dedicated to her work and instills that in those who work with her."

Amy Lieberman (Independent Casting Dir)
formerly head of casting for Center Theater Group

"First off, Eric Strickland is a Jedi. He named his son Luke for cryin out loud. Which means he's the Vader of acting training...Darth Strickland if you will, which means he's badass. Second off, his academic knowledge mixed with real world experience and down to earth demeanor has been invaluable to me at every step of my growth as an actor. He'll work with you, and I mean YOU. You will progress. You will book. Bottom line."

 Jerry Trainor (Actor) imdb

“Sydney literally transformed our department almost immediately. In my three years heading this program
I have never had such an overwhelmingly positive response to an instructor from my students, nor have I seen
advancement in them like they showed under her.

Sydney is passionate, intelligent, insightful, generous, and possesses a keen eye for talent.
She is a gifted instructor who demands only the best from her students and consistently gets it.
She inspires the highest commitment and love for the craft of acting in not only her students,
but in her fellow faculty as well.”

Howard Shangraw
Head of Acting
Idyllwild Arts Academy

“It is without hesitation and with the utmost pleasure that I write on the behalf of Sydney Brenner. One would be hard-pressed to find someone more loyal, talented and committed. Sydney is a natural teacher and committed artist. Not only did she do a stellar job while here at CSULB, but the students raved about her in depth practical knowledge of the subject matter and excellence in teaching style. Her classroom delivery was second to none, and she filled our hallways with enthusiasm and joy.”

Hugh O’Gorman
Head of Acting
California State University, Long Beach

This class is excellent. Sydney worked with me in a way that no other teacher has worked with me. She actually listens to what the actor is saying and delivers her feedback in a way that is specifically tailored to that specific actor so that he can grow and continue to get better. I could feel myself becoming more and more confident with the scene that I was given each week and then during the final performance, when an agent from Abrams was present, I reached an entirely new level. The end result was me being called in for a meeting by this particular agency. What more could you ask for out of a class?

Nick Warnock (Actor)

"Eric gets this business; he clarifies the audition process, sharpens your skills and makes them effective for both on and off camera auditions. He really builds the confidence you need to go out there and get the job. I am so grateful for what I learned from him. Eric helped guide my career in the direction it needed to go, and because of his help, I landed an agent, got my Equity card, and began to see great amounts of success. To this day, I have not found an audition class that tops his. If you have the opportunity to study with him, DO IT! You will thank yourself, when you are booking job after job, that you did!"

Wendi Bergamini (Actor)

"Sydney is not just a good acting instructor; she is an excellent instructor. She treats students as individuals and realizes that what
works for one actor doesn't necessarily work for everyone. I never knew what having a "break through" was until I had Sydney as an instructor. She truly provides an environment that challenges students to be risk takers and stretch to places they didn't think possible. I suggest her class to anyone that is serious about acting and wants to be challenged and grow"

Ryann Graye (Actor)

"Sydney Brenner was an acting student at the ART Institute of Advanced Theatre Training, whom I particularly enjoyed teaching. She proved herself to be gifted, smart, and dedicated, someone who would distinguish herself not only as an actress but as someone who could communicate to others what she already knew. "

Robert Brustein
Founding Director of the American Repertory Theatre, former Dean of the Yale School of Drama

"Sydney's empathic generous spirit makes her an excellent coach. Her ability to be honest and giving to her students makes them achieve their best work. Don't miss an opportunity to study with a woman with such a unique vision! We have worked with many of her students and they can't say enough about her skill and guidance."
